  1. Hey MDN, I sent you a ComputerWorld story last Friday about Steve Ballmer not refuting the idea that Apple would license the Exchange APIs from MS, and I said that it would relate to today’s event. But you chose not to run it. It was prescient, damn it. I want my 15 seconds of fame.

  2. @ElderNorm:

Um, we in the frozen wasteland have had AT&T;since December. When you see the actual Microsoft shill, remind him that yes, he CAN download it in Alaska.

  3. @Jeremy Avalon,

Shhhhh! Steve Ballmer does not want people to know that!! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

PS. He is also quite happy with selling Windows Mobile to a million or two phones. And besides, the iPhone does not have a key board, which makes it not very nice for business. Right? ROFLOL. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

  4. I’d like to hear from someone who has used a Blackberry and an iPhone extensively as to how good the keyboard is. I am so fast on the BB I cannot imagine a virtual keyboard for daily use. Any diehard Crackberry fans care to comment?

  5. ChrissyOne: The iPhone SDK means more to those kids than Jesus.

Does this mean I’m going to have to burn the Beatle tracks in my iPod now?

Tegenev is right: this is a seismic event. I hope video gets posted soon.

  6. Dan the Man: ” am so fast on the BB I cannot imagine a virtual keyboard for daily use”

Find a decently long chunk of text somewhere on the web, Dan, and time yourself typing it out on your Berry. Post how long it took you, do it a few times give results here. I’ll type it on my iPhone, maybe a few others can as well and post times.

That’ll give you some actual data to compare with.

I’ll tell you I can’t imagine being much faster on a Blackberry keyboard than I am on my iPhone even after extensive practice on the Berry keyboard. One of the main reasons is the technology Apple uses to correct your typing is utterly outstanding.
