Next-gen iPod nano images ‘confirmed’ by Apple Legal?

&t“Ironically, the only sure way to know the truth in an Apple rumor is to receive a takedown notice from Apple Legal. That’s what happened to both Gizmodo and Apple news site 9to5Mac, who posted leaked images of a new, big screen iPod Nano,” Charlie Sorrel blogs for Wired.

“The Fatboy Nano will play video and come in matt black, silver, cranberry, light blue and light green,” Sorrel reports.

Gizmodo is running an online poll, “What do you think about the rumored new iPod nano?” along with a larger image of the rumored next-gen iPod nano here.

  1. The people on this board seem to be clueless. How can they make the nano screen bigger without making it wider? For the price of the nano, you get a screen close to the size of the current video iPod. This make way for the current video iPod to transform into an iPhone without the phone feature. I for one think this nano looks great. I hope the back is metal. It will look great with that matt black front.

  2. The image, however ‘real’ it claims to be, does not make sense.
The screen ratio is neither 16×9 nor 4×3.

If it were designed to play video, don’t you think it would have to be one or the other? (and most likely 16×9?)

  3. Come on, people!!! Both these pictures and the video of the new UI are REAL! Apple Legal doesn’t ask sites to remove these things unless they are real. Can anyone name a single instance where it was not a real product? And, don’t say the Jason O’Grady Asteroid incident, because in court Apple admitted it was a real product under development.

  4. Just because Gizmodo and 9-5 claim Apple made them take down the images they are automatically believed by everyone. Apple made them remove the images!!! Oh yeah? Says who? Bogus. The whole bit is a sham. This debate is stupid.

  5. I honestly dont think that these are new NANO shots…..

I believe that Apple will go to a 4 iPod platform

The Shuffle, Nano (maybe a bit shorter), the thing up there will be a new flash based video iPod, and the iPhony touch iPod that has a HDD for massive storage.

the above images fit for a mid range video ipod that isnt for the hard core

  6. Between the decidely negative reaction here to this iPlod, and the overwhelming dissing of iMovie ’08 (warranted or not), the frequent trolls on MDN should have ample evidence that we’re not all a bunch of glazzy-eyed supplicants worshiping at the Apple iAltar.

I agree – this thing blows.
