Apple TV leads as the most-awarded network after the second night of the 78th Emmy Awards and tops the weekend with a record 20 wins, including breakout sensation “Widow’s Bay” earning the most wins of any program with eight, alongside “Pluribus,” “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” “Palm Royale” and “Mr. Scorsese.” The winners were announced Sunday night by the Television Academy, and additional categories will be unveiled at the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on Monday, September 14, 2026.
On the heels of its celebrated first season, Outstanding Comedy nominee “Widow’s Bay” lands eight wins, including Outstanding Guest Actress Betty Gilpin, alongside Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour); Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series; Outstanding Cinematography for a Series (Half-Hour); Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score); Outstanding Music Supervision; Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation; and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation. The series is also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor for star and executive producer Matthew Rhys, alongside Outstanding Supporting nominations for Kate O’Flynn, Dale Dickey and Stephen Root, as well as Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing.
One of the most-nominated programs of the year, Outstanding Drama nominee “Pluribus” scores with wins for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour or More); Outstanding Picture Editing for a Drama; Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music; and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour). The series is also nominated for Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Directing for creator Vince Gilligan, and Best Actress in a Drama for star Rhea Seehorn, as well as supporting actor category nominations for Karolina Wydra and Carlos-Manuel Vesga.
Apple’s acclaimed Outstanding Comedy nominee “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” makes its Emmy debut with three wins, including Outstanding Contemporary Costumes for a Series; Outstanding Contemporary Hairstyling; and Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic). The series is also nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy for star and executive producer Elle Fanning, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for star and executive producer Michelle Pfeiffer, and Outstanding Supporting Actor for Nick Offerman.
Comedy series “Palm Royale” earns three Emmy Award wins, including Outstanding Choreography for Scripted Programming, Outstanding Period Costumes and Outstanding Period or Fantasy/Sci-Fi Makeup (Non-Prosthetic).
Apple TV also scored two wins on the first night of the 78th Emmy Awards; one for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series for “Mr. Scorsese,” and another for Outstanding Commercial “I’m Not Remarkable.”
This year, Apple scored its best-ever haul for the Emmy Awards, with 89 nominations across 15 programs, and leads as the network with the most nominations in the Best Drama and Best Comedy series categories, respectively, nabbing top program nominations for comedies “Widow’s Bay,” “Shrinking” and “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” alongside dramas “Pluribus,” “Slow Horses” and “Your Friends & Neighbors.” Apple’s beloved breakout comedy “Widow’s Bay” leads as one of this year’s most-nominated programs with 19 nominations in total, and “Pluribus” landed 18 nominations following its global hit freshman season. Celebrated Apple Original “Shrinking” landed 10 nominations, “Slow Horses” was recognized with nine nominations, and “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” scored eight nominations in total. These record-breaking nominations follow Apple TV’s sweep of last year’s 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, where “The Studio” became the most-winning freshman comedy in Emmy history, and “Severance” led as most-winning drama.
To date, Apple Original films, documentaries and series have been honored with 913 wins and 3,827 award nominations and counting, including multi-Emmy Award-winning and history-making comedies “The Studio” and “Ted Lasso,” global cultural phenomenon “Severance,” Apple’s most-viewed drama “Pluribus,” Academy Award Best Picture winner “CODA” and Academy Award winner “F1,” the highest-grossing sports feature of all time.
