Apple has released new firmware updates for both the AirPods Pro (3rd generation) and AirPods Pro (2nd generation).

• AirPods Pro 3: Firmware version 8B30 (previously 8B25)
• AirPods Pro 2: Firmware version 8B28 (previously 8B21)

While Apple hasn’t published official release notes, the updates may be tied to upcoming features like expanded Live Translation support in the European Union, which is coming to both models with iOS 18.2 (currently in beta and expected to launch soon). The firmware could also include bug fixes and other under-the-hood improvements.

How to update your AirPods Pro:

  1. Ensure your AirPods are connected to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
  2. Place the AirPods in their charging case.
  3. Connect the case to a power source.
  4. Keep the lid closed and leave them charging for at least 30 minutes.

The update installs automatically in the background when these conditions are met.
