Apple is working on an eye-scrolling feature for its Vision Pro headset, enabling users to navigate software using their eyes for a more intuitive interface. This feature is being developed for visionOS 3, the next version of the Vision Pro’s operating system, Bloomberg News reports citing “sources familiar with the project.” Currently, the headset allows users to interact with software by looking at items and selecting them with a finger pinch.

The idea is to leverage the Vision Pro’s existing eye-tracking hardware and software to take the system a step further, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the technology is still under wraps. Apple is planning to introduce the new Vision Pro operating system at its annual developer conference starting on June 9…
The eye-scrolling feature will work across all of Apple’s built-in apps on the Vision Pro, which starts at $3,499, and the company is preparing a way for developers to integrate the technology into their own software. Several years ago, Samsung Electronics Co. added an eye-scrolling feature to its smartphones, taking advantage of the devices’ front-facing cameras. But the option never caught on with consumers.

Meh. One of the biggest problems with the Vision Pro is idiots have made it a high friction device. If I want to use my iPad, I pick it up, it seems my face, im using it in 2 seconds.
With the Vision Pro im CONSTANTLY being made to type in my login password. When I first put it on. For a software update. Etc. Etc.
YOU HAVE AN F’N RETINAL SCAN ACCESSIBLE 24/7. LEAVE ME THE F ALONE AND NEVER ASK ME MY PASSWORD AGAIN.
If I could just put the brick on my face and get to work where I left off without that tedium I might actually bother putting it on every once in a while. People at apple are full on morons about UI these days. SHUT UP YOURE WRONG, APPLE SUCKS AT UI. System Settings on Macs proves they are now grossly incompetent. There is no other view than that and if you have another view, youre just wrong and an idiot.
