Apple not expected to unveil Apple Watch Ultra 3 at Monday’ special event

A new advanced display architecture pushes the maximum brightness of Apple Watch Ultra 2 to 3000 nits for greater readability in harsh sunlight.

Bloomberg News‘ Mark Gurman has revealed via post on X Sunday night that Apple will not introduce a new Apple Watch Ultra 3 model at its upcoming “It’s Glowtime” event. Instead, the company will be refreshing the existing Apple Watch Ultra 2 with a sleek new black color option.

Mark Gurman via X:

I don’t expect Apple to announce an Apple Watch Ultra 3 tomorrow. Instead, I expect the Ultra 2 sticks around and — finally — gains a black color option. I also wouldn’t rule out a delay to the new Watch SE.

MacDailyNews Take: Disappointing, if true, but maybe Apple can still release an Apple Watch Ultra 3 (at an October event or even just via press release?) in time for this Christmas.

MacDailyNews Note: You can watch Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT today, Monday, September 9th via apple.com, the Apple TV app, or Apple’s YouTube channel:
