Apple Intelligence’s deep understanding of language will also extends to Notifications. Priority Notifications appear at the top of the stack to surface what’s most important, and summaries help users scan long or stacked notifications to show key details right on the Lock Screen, such as when a group chat is particularly active. And to help users stay present in what they’re doing, Reduce Interruptions is a new Focus that surfaces only the notifications that might need immediate attention, like a text about an early pickup from daycare. These Priority Notifications will also come to Apple Watch by way of its companion iPhone – and Apple Watch is where this feature shines best.
Ryan Christoffel for 9to5Mac:
The Apple Watch isn’t technically a supported Apple Intelligence device. However, because the iPhone feeds notifications to its paired Watch, it benefits from these iOS 18.1 AI notifications…
For supported apps, such as Messages and Mail, Apple Intelligence uses notifications to provide brief summaries of a message’s contents…
[T]hanks to Apple Intelligence, notifications in iOS 18.1 now feature a summary of the message’s full contents.
And this works for summarizing a whole conversation too: if you have a stack of unread Messages notifications on your Watch, the summary will dynamically update to encompass everything you’ve missed.
Basically, notification summaries help you understand a message or thread’s key contents with just a quick glance.
Which is why this feature is a perfect fit for the Apple Watch… [A]s nice as these ‘intelligent’ notifications are on the iPhone, I’ve found they’re an even stronger asset on the Watch. Screen real estate is at such a premium on the Apple Watch that this feature feels custom-built for watchOS.

How about the Notes app for Apple Watch? Or is that TOO intelligent for Apple?
All this AI is lovely, but Apple continues to ignore basics.
Like actually blocking ‘blocked’ emails.
Like blocking whole domains.
Just that would return five minutes a day to me.
And so simple to achieve.
Your are positively right. Apple STILL cannot effectively stop spam and worse, STILL CANNOT TRUELY BLOCK MAILS WHEN SET TO BLOCK. thousands and thousands of people are absolutely pissed off at Cook about this.
Its like they DO NOT WANT TO LET YOU BLOCK SPECIFIC MAILS AND PEOPLE.
I use Notes daily and would also like to see the Notes app on Apple Watch, set up so that Notes syncs over iCloud+ in the same fashion as Notes for iPhone syncs with Notes for Mac.
Yes, there will be issues with text size but at least notes would be present on Apple Watch.
