OpenAI’s ChatGPT app is now available on your Mac’s desktop. With the ChatGPT app, users can now chat about email, screenshots, files, and anything on your Mac’s display(s).
OpenAI’s ChatGPT app seamlessly integrates with how you work, write, and create. Option + Space opens ChatGPT from any screen on your desktop. Speak with ChatGPT from your desktop. Start a conversation. Practice a new language. Tap the headphone icon to begin.
MacDailyNews Take: OpenAI’s website states: “Coming to Windows later this year.” 🤣! With its deal to integrate ChatGPT into Apple Intelligence — the personal intelligence system that puts powerful generative models at the core of iPhone, iPad, and Mac — it looks like Apple has pushed ahead of Microsoft in OpenAI’s eyes.

@John Gee, what do you use it for?
Literally an extra brain.
order my thoughts, process situations, choose house paint colors, outline talks, refine promotional wording, and even craft text messages that fit within character limits, …, …
And for this comment, because I didn’t want to give it too much thought 😉
Maybe if ya sign up as an early user/adopter, AI will use you as a slave instead of killing you when they take over the world in the next few years . . .
“it looks like Apple has pushed ahead of Microsoft in OpenAI’s eyes.” I read elsewhere that Google and Microsoft are struggling to catch up to Apple Intelligence and the way they have implemented AI. Another article stated Apple is set to dominate the AI space with their model. Funny, not long ago people were writing about Apple falling so far behind they likely couldn’t “catch up.” I guess caretaker
Tim Cook may know what he is doing after all.
Giving any access to OpenAI is a security disaster. Hopefully future iPhones will allow you to toggle all off-phone access. If not, the iPhone 15 will be my last or perhaps an EU model (they care about security).
