Apple is prepping new M4-powered Mac Pro and Mac Studio models for launch sometime in the the second half of next year.
Mark Gurman for Bloomberg News:
The M4 iMacs, MacBook Pros (low- and high-end versions) and Mac minis (low- and high-end models as well) are due between the end of 2024 and early 2025.
New MacBook Airs are coming in the spring of 2025, and the Mac Pro and Mac Studio models will arrive around the second half of next year.
This will mark the first time Apple is bringing a new chip family to every Mac it makes. The move follows the addition of the M4 to the iPad Pro in May.

I would be very interested in a 32 inch Studio Display or a cheaper Pro Display XDR Series 2
If Apple ships an M4 chip in the Mac Pro that is significantly more capable and faster than the M4 chips Apple ships in the Mac Studio with the ability to integrate the fastest Nvidia board and supports multiple PCIe 5 slots, then I’m all in. Otherwise this person who has been buying and using the top end Macs since the late 80s unfortunately will be considering something else. (There were no “top end” Macs in the mid 80s, but I had and used those Macs too.)
“…ability to integrate the fastest Nvidia board…”
LOL! Apple has eliminated that option.
