Apple’s new ‘Scary Fast’ Macs likely to launch on November 8th

Apple Event

Apple is likely to launch new Mac models at its “Scary Fast” event on Monday, October 30th, MacRumors has learned.

Hartley Charlton for MacRumors:

At the start of the month, MacRumors reported that Apple was proceeding with plans to announce at least one new Mac model in October. Apple yesterday announced its “Scary Fast” event for Monday, October 30, featuring a Finder hint, which virtually confirms the arrival of new Macs. Now, related information provided to MacRumors suggests that new Mac models could launch on Wednesday, November 8 – nine days after the “Scary Fast” event.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that Apple’s upcoming event will focus on new MacBook Pro models with M3 series chips, which could include the 13-, 14-, and 16-inch models with the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips. In addition to these machines, a new iMac featuring the M3 chip is also on the table for announcement at the event.

  1. Another possibility, without M3 being released so soon… The big reveal is the long-missing BIG iMac. 32-inch iMac with M2 Pro or Max, PLUS iMac Pro with M2 Ultra (“scary fast” in black only). Base 24-inch iMac refreshed with M2, with options for M2 Pro or Max. Maybe some new iPad models too. That’s enough for the event. No need for WAY-to-early upgrades to MacBook Pro lineup.

    1. Baloney. As I have posted several times Apple refreshes the iPhone every September, new MacOS and iOS every year. No reason why Apple cannot refresh their chips and computers yearly!!

Car manufactures do it every August with hundreds more parts and everyone knows when to expect new models, or buy lasy years model at a discount. Apple, please do the same.

I’m pumped and going to buy a fully loaded 14-inch MacBook Pro on DAY ONE….

      1. “No reason why” is except recent history… Apple doesn’t replace the MacBook Pro lineup after less than 10 months. Doing so will annoy some of Apple’s best customers, who spent big money on the current latest high-end M2-based MacBook Pro. AND the M-chip is a continuation of the A-chip with suffix previously used in iPad Pro. A10X, but no A11 version. A12X and Z, no A13 version. A14 served as basis for M1 in 2020. M2 two years later. So M3 in 2024. M3 now would be exciting, but Apple tends to be pragmatic and systematic in its operations.

        1. I get what you are saying, however, annoying some customers two months shy of a year? It only has to happen ONCE, then Apple releases new chips and new computers on a YEARLY BASIS in the same timeframe. What is the computer refresh cycle for individuals and businesses, think about it. Very few annoyed in my view and just sell it, retail value high and go with the latest and greatest. We’re not talking iPhones here that nobody seems to care about because they know every September you can buy a new model. Wish I could say the same for MacPros…

        2. It would annoy the crap out of me; I decided to upgrade because I figured the M3 chipped goodies wouldn’t be out until NEXT year sometime. Apple usually debuts things in the iPad Pro and the MacBook Air…. Oh, well. I guess if I have to have it, I can trade in. But I doubt I’ll need to do that. 😀
