“Apple is not concerned about China’s slowing economy as the company continues to increase its investments there,” Puneet Sikka reports for MarketRealist.
“Other factors that are making Apple optimistic in China are the better prospects for the iPhone and the iPad,” Sikka reports. “Sales for the iPhone in China were up by 120% in the last quarter. Apple gave credit to this growth to the buyers in China who are buying iPhones for the first time. Apple claimed that 50% of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus buyers in the last quarter in China were first-time iPhone buyers.”
“These figures for the iPad were even more impressive,” Sikka reports. “Apple reported that 68% of the iPad buyers in China were first-time tablet buyers, and 40% of them had never owned an Apple product before.”
