Apple has debuted two new television commercials that feature iPhone 6s and, by extension and inference, iPhone 6s Plus.
The 30-second spot called “Hey Siri” focuses on – you guessed it – how iOS 9 users can now say “Hey Siri” to activate Siri when their hands are full. The ad features actress Penélope Cruz cheating at a crossword puzzle by asking her rose gold iPhone 6s “Hey Siri, who was the prime minister of Britain in 1868?” (Benjamin Disraeli).
In the 60-second “Ridiculously Powerful,” Apple focuses on how, with the iPhone 6s, “not much has changed, except it’s ridiculously powerful.” Everything is faster: “Maps, Messages, browsing, shopping stuff, business-y stuff,” gaming.” The ad features actor, director, producer, screenwriter, and comedian Jon Favreau.
MacDailyNews Take: Good ads, both. Featuring Penélope Cruz and Jon Favreau is done in a casual, very low key way (no lower third key that states their names, for example) that works.
