“Apple’s new mobile operating system, iOS 9, which [yesterday] began hitting hundreds of millions of iPhones around the world, is all about answering that question,” David Pierce reports for Wired. “(I’m not talking about the iPad here, which is actually a far more dramatic functional change—we’ll get to that in a later article.)”
“You won’t see incredible, heretofore unimagined features. You won’t be forced to learn novel behaviors, or remember how to launch the cool new app,” Pierce reports. “Instead, Apple spent the last year connecting dots between the disparate pieces of its operating system. The next phase of technology is all about it learning our behavior and adapting to our needs, not forcing us into its pre-determined ideas about how the world works.”
“iOS 9 isn’t here to change your life,” Pierce reports. “In fact, it’s here to do the opposite: The goal of iOS9 is to help you change as little as possible.”

Is there a way to tell Siri to check iPhone-based music prior to hitting Music? The time-to-play has lengthened dramatically.
Just add “from my music” or similar at the end of the request
MacDailyNews,
Would you please try to update your iPhone & iPad app to be iOS 9 and iPad multitask split screen compatible?
Absolutely loving iOS 9… The new system font alone is worth the upgrade.
Except that “moving to junk” emails take an extra step (two sub menus), when there should be a “move to junk ” clean and simple swipe. Other than that, I’m liking iOS 9 lots! 😃👍
I like the way Siri “knows” when I get in my car, and tells me how long my journey home is going to be.
I think the new multitasking makes certain things harder to do. I used to be able to quickly open multitasking and be able to reference something from another app without having to actually open it. Now it’s all covered up instead of totally visible and I pretty much have to go into the app, open multitasking again, then open my other app, instead of just quickly double pressing the home button and immediately getting back to what I was doing before.
I also hate that they brought back the side search screen. I always kept all my apps on one single screen and can’t stand to have that over there, drives me absolutely crazy. I was so happy when they got rid of it the first time. Oh well.
You can still just swipe down from the middle of your home screen to bring up search.
iOS 9 didn’t brick my 5, but, after two days now, it’s still stuck on the boot screen, the bar moves along about half way, and resets. Going on 40 hours of this now. I’ll probably have to bite the bullet and restore from scratch.
I find lower case font harder to read on keyboard
“Accessibility > Keyboard” is your friend.
Its the font style not size or weight
I like all the new features in Maps. Not perfect yet, but getting closer.
I like the Notes makeover. Checklist great.
Don’t know if battery duration is better, but it’s a good idea.
There’s a lot to like in 9.
I’m reluctant to update. I’ve seen too mantbiphones/iPads/iPods encounter problems like not turning on. I’ll wait until they get this straightened out.
What I don’t like is that battery life has gotten worse rather than better and it was fantastic with OS 8. I wish Apple would fix that but I’m guessing wishing is not getting.
Kind of funny to love something people can not use…..Notes is no longer compatible with OSX 10.10…..How can that happen? Wait 2-3 weeks until my notes will be available on my Mac?
I’m very unhappy with the battery drain. It is astounding how my iPhone’s battery has gone from 93% to 28% since the install. 9.1 and 9.2 cannot come fast enough for me.
