Android Police: Best tablet is Apple’s iOS-powered iPad Air 2

“There are plenty of Android smartphones that can go toe-to-toe with the iPhone but there still seems to be something missing when it comes to Android tablets,” Brad Reed reports for BGR. “If you need further proof of this, consider that the excellent Android-focussed website Android Police has just put out its holiday gift guide… and writer David Ruddock recommends the iPad Air 2 as the best tablet to buy.”

Reed reports, “‘The Air 2 is reliable, predictable, and very fast,’ he writes. ‘iOS still has some tablet experience apps lacking Android equivalents, too…'”

MacDailyNews Take: By “some,” Ruddock means “hundreds of thousands.”

Reed reports, “[Ruddock continues], ‘the iPad remains a no-brainer for me. If it’s my money being spent on a tablet, I’m going to buy the one I know is going to live up to a standard of quality – the iPad has been the gold standard in tablets since it was unveiled, and that hasn’t changed. I don’t see it changing any time soon, either.'”

MacDailyNews Take: There are not plenty of Android smartphones that can go toe-to-toe with the iPhone. There are, in fact, none that can. Spec sheets are no substitute for actual performance and user experience. That Android phone has more megapixels. Wonderful. Our iPhones take significantly better pictures. Etcetera on down the line, from apps (most developers develop for iOs and port lowest common denominator inferior versions to Android) to processors (only Apple can design the silicon and the OS to benefit each other) and beyond.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are simply unmatched and the consensus of major reviews from a wide variety of trusted sources proves it.

  1. Never got past the first sentence because the first line basically screamed hit piece. When did they come out with a 64b phone that runs Android?

Ruddock must be rolling his own using IDC print outs.
