“Last quarter’s iPhones sales are going to be the big news Monday when Apple reports its Q4 2014 earnings,” Philip Elmer-DeWitt reports for Fortune. “Those earnings won’t include this weekend’s China sales, but they will include two weeks of iPhone 6/6+ pre-orders, nine days of sales in 10 countries and two days of sales in 20 more.”
“Meanwhile, we’ve polled some Apple analysts for their Q4 estimates and we’ve heard so far from 30 of them — 21 pros and 9 amateurs,” P.E.D. reports. “Their iPhone unit sales estimates range from a low of 35 million (from BTIG’s Walter Piecyk) to a high of 40 million (Jefferies’ Peter Misek).”

I think you are off by one.
I Patiently await the news of how many phones Apple and Samsung sold during the Christmas season, 2015 Q1. Mua Ha Ha.
Samsung will probably announce they sold more by one more. Oh wait, that would be SHIPPED. 😛
I had a customer that left her Galaxy S4 on one of our airport shuttles. She came back to get it and had another Galaxy S4 exactly the same that she said was her “back-up” phone. Apparently, they were buy one, get one free.
Samsung will “ship” a lot of phones, but when they are BOGO, their revenue will show how they are really doing.
What’s the bet that they are selling phones to themselves to up the numbers
gazillion
There were 41 Brazilian iPhones sold last quarter. Remind me again how many is a Brazilian?
All of them?
If you are counting (splitting) hairs then 1 brazilian = 0
The number will not include preorders. Accounting regulations don’t allow those to be recorded as a sale. Regardless, the numbers will be huge.
43 million.
