“Apple became the latest tech company to reveal statistics on employee diversity Tuesday,” James O’Toole reports for CNNMoney. “The results? Predictably unimpressive. The company’s 98,000 worldwide employees are 70% male, a figure that jumps to 72% for leadership roles and 80% for technical positions.”
“Apple’s U.S. employees are 55% white, compared with 63% of the general population, though whites account for 64% of those in leadership roles. Asians make up 15% of the company, with Hispanics at 11% and blacks at 7%,” O’Toole reports. “The nation’s overall population is about 63% white, 17% Hispanic, 13% African American and 5% Asian, according the Census Bureau, with women making up 49% of the work force.”
“Google reported in May that its staff is 70% male. The search giant is 61% white, 30% Asian, 3% Hispanic and 2% black,” O’Toole reports. “Facebook said in June that it was 69% male globally, with its U.S. workforce 57% white, 34% Asian, 4% Hispanic and 2% black.”

If you are a white fit healthy polite male with an education everything will be handed to you on a plate. Job, wife, mortgage.
women have to put on suits and act manlike to get anywhere (shoulder pads and jackets are required uniform)
and people with dark skin have to act and speak very white.

Suicides are surprisingly high among middle-aged, white men in the US. Aren’t these are the guys who are supposed to be living high off the Patriarchy?
This just in: corporate America is mostly white and senior leadership is mostly male.
So what? Unless someone can prove that this is a result of discrimination, I see no problem with this. Companies should hire the best qualified people, not follow some stupid quota. Why in the hell do we care about this kind of crap anyway? It’s the quality of the person that I care about, not their race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.

Checking the numbers, Apple’s workforce is actually less white than the general population.
It is not what you know, but who you know. That seems the way to get your foot in the door nowadays.

Whits are actually underrepresented at apple.
Hockey players are mostly white males too.
Apple can hardly be blamed for the American cultural bias to feminize girls into traditional gender roles. If this country wants more female scientists and engineers then we have to stop pressuring young women to conform to social norms for what it means to be feminine. Right now being a girl means makeup and pretty shoes, not computer programming and math.
