Apple’s new MacBook Air models are coming, but redesigned 12-inch Retina model may be delayed

“Apple’s upcoming redesigned 12-inch MacBook with a Retina display is expected to ship later than expected and new 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models have gone into production, according to a pair of reports from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News,” Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac.

“The first report says that updates to both current MacBook Air sizes have entered production with Apple partner Quanta Computer, and that the new computers will boost Quanta’s 2014 notebook shipment numbers by 15%,” Gurman reports. “The new devices are said to sport new chassis, screens, and chipsets, and volume shipments are due in late-August barring any unforeseen component delays.”

Gurman reports, “Speaking of part delays, Apple’s illusive [sic elusive] 12-inch MacBook with Retina display is now expected to ship as early as the end of Q3 2014 or as late as early 2015.”

    1. I was surprised about that ad. I never met Steve Jobs, but considering how proprietary he was about the look and feel of everything, I’d imagine he’d loathe the idea of people “marring” his computer with stickers. Still, they look cool. I think it would be a brilliant idea if Apple licensed a bunch of them and let people personalize their Macs with these temporary stickers. After all, it is THEIR computer, not Steve Jobs’.

      1. I was surprised about that some stickers were on top of Apple logo too which seems like something Apple would want to do as they are very protective of their logo & branding…
