“Rarely has a deal been so scrutinized as Apple’s multibillion-dollar acquisition of Beats Electronics and Beats Music,” Matt McCue reports for Fortune.
“One thing is for sure: The four major players instrumental in Apple’s acquisition of Beats—Apple CEO Tim Cook, Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue, and Beats co-founders Dre and Iovine—have said precious little about Apple’s largest-ever acquisition beyond the deal’s official announcement. But their body language, captured in two official photographs released with the news, may be able to provide clues into how they might work together,” McCue reports. “‘At least half of all communication is nonverbal, so body language tells us 50% of a message,’ says Janine Driver, a body language expert and the author of The New York Times bestseller You Say More Than You Think. ‘It tells us who has a good rapport, who is connected to who and who exhibits concern.'”
“We asked Driver, who didn’t know the specifics of the $3 billion deal or the business hierarchy of the four (Cook is the boss of everyone; Dr. Dre and Iovine will report to Cue), to analyze two pictures of the group that were taken the day Apple announced it was buying Beats,” McCue reports. “On Tim Cook: ‘I have an expression: ‘When you grab your chin, you’re about to win,’ Driver says. ‘This is a Steve Jobs pose—he did this on the cover of his book, but even as a 20-year-old there are pictures of Jobs grabbing his chin.’ On Dr. Dre: ‘He is also very confident. All of the guys are doing what is called ‘crotch display,’ by sitting with their legs spread apart, but he is the only one who is keeping their naughty bits completely open. If I had to guess who got $3 billion, I’d say that guy…’

Just more TNB.

We don’t need crystal balls… their chins and crotches explain everything.
Crystal balls always go with a good crotch.
Lol.. This is funny..
Welcome to National Inquirer !
Never been easier to come across as confident and a winner !
I don’t see how a person could sit forward in one of those orange chairs without exhibiting “crotch display”.
This is all BS… She is just as right as wrong.. All the photos are staged. I see it, it’s how the photographer sees them more than how they see each other. The big person in the room, in my mind is Iovine (I almost spelt it, iOvine). That’s not from the photo, but from the deal. I know Tim is the boss, but I think she’s right that he doesn’t mind letting others take control, (of the situation only). I only believe this from seeing other presentations, not from the pictures.
Crock Crock Crock.
This is the stupidest load of bullshit I have read today, but then again, I didn’t read anything about the tea party boneheads yet.
WHO put those lousy, low, acute angled orange chairs in the room? That says more to me than how four affable guys place their legs. That’s how guys, as opposed to girls, normally sit. That picture says anything insightful about Dr. Dre how? He simply looks happy to be there and he has a BIG watch.
Why is every month now August in tech journalism? *YAWN*
Oh I remember: Few of these writers actually comprehend what they’re writing about. So they end up writing what they do know about: Schmoozy relational stuff that tech geeks couldn’t care less about. Oops, wrong subject. Try a tech savvy writer next time you want articles about technology. How’s that sound? ‘The View’ this is NOT.
