“Most of us were earlier adopters of iOS 7,” E. Werner Reschke writes for T-GAAP. “I held out for two weeks, but only two weeks.”
“Most people who own a modern iPhone or iPad are running iOS 7,” Reschke writes. “It would take a conscious effort and specific reasons NOT to upgrade.”
“That said, iOS 7 has some serious interface drawbacks,” Reschke writes. “That is why this video gives us some hope. It is of someone who has a white iPhone running iOS 7.0.4 and a black iPhone running a developmental version of iOS 7.1. After watching it, I was reminded again of how ‘half-baked’ iOS 7 is on the interface front.”

I got used to the new interface. But I still don’t like it. I liked the old icons better. Some feature are better which they could have introduced without changing the looks. On my Mac I can replace the icons with another one. Not on my iPhone. On my Mac I can say where I want my files to be stored. Not on my iPhone.
It seems that many people mix up features and graphical interface (GUI).
You can like or dislike GUI’s design, the colors, the readability, the shapes, etc., but for the features, there were those existing in iOS 6 and those new in iOS 7.
Many new features in iOS 7 are or can be considered as improvements. Some existing features in iOS 6 have been sabotaged or received no attention in iOS 7.
For example, sabotage is Assistive Touch’s button in Camera mode. If you still have a device running iOS 6, compare how it works in iOS 6 and how it makes you miss photos that need to be taken within no delay when putting your iPhone in landscape mode, you don’t notice the Assistive Touch’s button overlay the Camera’s shot button !
No attention is for example when you have many Shared Photostreams and from inside some of many photo app, you need to find several times, one or several pictures in one or several shared photostreams including your own, and in your camera roll !
Can anyone tell they get a great user experience navigating in an unsorted list of Shared Photostreams and Albums, every title with the same font family, same font, same style, same size, same weight, constantly changing its place in the list according to comments, likes, addition or subtraction of content in the streams, etc. ?
I like the new ios. Except for the super simplified icons in the browser. That are just drawn with a thin line.
