“According to Apple ‘Candy Crush’ was the top free downloaded app from the App Store for both the iPhone and the iPad,” Rex Crum reports for MarketWatch. “By some reports, the game, which is also available on the Android platform, has been downloaded more than 500 million times since it was launched in November 2012.”
“Coming in second place was the app for Google Inc.’s You Tube [sic] video service,” Crum reports. “Imangi Studios ‘Temple Run 2’ game was the No. 3 downloaded free app, and the Vine video-creation app from Vine Labs took fourth place.”
“‘Candy Crush’ was also the top grossing app on the Apple App Store, with Supercell’s ‘Clash of Clans’ in second place and ahead of the app from iTunes Radio rival Pandora Media Inc.,” Crum reports. “Among paid apps, the pocket edition of ‘Mindcraft’ [sic] [recte Minecraft] [$6.99] took the top spot on Apple’s list.”

Umm that’s more certainly supposed to read “minecraft” rather than “mindcraft?”
