30 must-see Apple iPhone 5s slow-motion videos

“The iPhone 5S has been out for more than a week, and the collection of slow motion videos has ballooned in size,” Josh Lowensohn reports for CNET.

Lowensohn reports, “Earlier this week we posted 15 of our early favorites people had shot in their initial weekend with the device.

“Now we’ve put together another 15 that show off what people are doing when slowing down videos to a fourth of their speed,” Lowensohn reports.

  1. These videos look like a bad rip off of Koyaanisqatsi, one of the greatest films of the 1980s. If people nowadays are trying to copy the 80s you guys are failing miserably. The 21st century just can’t compare…You missed out…

    1. WTF?
Three possibilities, your comment was thinly veiled sarcasm that you forgot to tag (/s) or two, you are just (yet another) delusional iHater or perhaps (lastly) you experimented faaaar too much in college.

      1. I’m not an iHater. I love Apple, I just don’t like the 2000s or the 2010s decades. If I hated Apple, then I would not be using the mini vMac emulator to relieve OS9. Besides Android was created in the 2000s. That automatically makes it the worst decade ever.

        1. You’re obviously a typical android user based on your comment.

Ignorant, uneducated, self-centred and in denial that you love Apple.

If you weren’t in denial you would care so much to comment on this apple centric website.

    2. Ummm no.

Now just happens to the decade that near professional equipment fits in the pocket of everyday people. People who are out there living life to the fullest “today”.

Perhaps you should give it a try.

    3. You are completely delusional if you really believe that the 80’s and 90’s are the pinnacles of modern era. New Romanticism, really bad haircuts and the fashion, urgh. Bands like Human League, Berlin and other horrors. Rampant homophobia, racism, Ronald Regan, ooh just the thought of those times, (shiver).

I grew up in those times and I would never pine for them to be repeated.

    4. Guys, in no way is 80s90s fan trying to diss apple. He is dissing the way people are filming with the phone and then putting slow dramatic music to the video, which is what some of Koyaanisqatsi is. I saw most the videos, and I dont mind people filming the crap quality they filmed…but why the hell did CNET pick some of the worst videos I have ever seen, They had horrible framing, someone didn’t know how to convert to a High quality, and some were just boring. and then they had the nerve to write 30 “must-see” videos. 10 minutes i wish i had back quite honestly, except for the magnet one…that one was legit.

    1. They did make an early digital camera, although it didn’t do too well because of one tiny, little oversight… Apple seemed to have forgotten to build a flash into it. Quite humorous, actually. A point-and-shoot camera without a flag. A friend of mine got one, and we had some laughs about it.

      1. It was rubbish, basically a cheap kodak jobbie with apple printed on it.

Another of Sculley’s stupid ideas along with first inkjet printer (a bubbjet canon or something), the newton and a ridiculous product mess no one wanted.

  2. The videos of the iPhone 5S getting tortured, by having pop spilled on it, and other methods, actually scared me. It felt like I was watching a techno-fetish bondage film by Stanley Kubrick. But other than that, those videos were great.

    1. Thank you for sharing that. Just beautiful, and astonishing to me that it was shot on an iPhone. I’m noticing how Vimeo is becoming the Apple of online video while YouTube is the Microsoft.

      1. Would have received my gold 5s on day two but it had to go from China to Korea to Anchorage, Alaska to Kentucky (to clear Customs) and then back to Anchorage where I live. I could see it from my back yard!

  3. This is going to be a fantastic training aid. I am a youth baseball and basketball coach. This will enable me to show a batter his swing or a point guard his layup timing immediately. Great job Apple!
