“New iPhones will arrive in Japan on September 20 with a gold iPhone 5S option in tow, Japan’s Nikkei reported Wednesday,” Brooke Crothers reports for CNET.

Let’s hope the price pyramid is:
5s
5
5c (at $350 for 8 GB!)
What is leading everyone to believe that the iPhone 5 will remain in the line up? It makes absolutely no sense.
couldn’t agree more.
I want to be a goldmember.
This article flies in the face of the previous article about the 5C being for the “rest of the world” instead of the USA.
IF Japan gets the 5c, then the US most certainly should get the 5c. If anyone country as a whole can afford to get by on the upper end models only, it would be Japan. BUT since they will be getting the 5c, most certainly, the US will.
Did you read the article, or did you just scan the headline? Nowhere does the TechCrunch article say that the 5C won’t be available in the U.S. The examples cited in the actual article include France and the UK, basically any country where paying for a phone up front and then picking from competing contract-free plans is more the norm.
Poor NTT Docomo…
They are really dumb not to get the iPhone.
