“Apple today pushed out new test builds of OS X 10.7.2 and iCloud for OS X developers, continuing to quickly move forward with testing of iCloud,” Eric Slivka reports for MacRumors.
“The iCloud client is actually in its 10th beta, suggesting that Apple is conducting an extensive amount of testing before it risks making its cloud technology public,” MacNN notes.

Slivka reports, “We’ve yet to hear about any specific changes in the latest seeds, but Apple has been asking developer to target AirPort, AppKit, GraphicsDrivers, iCal, iChat, Mac App Store, Mail, Spotlight, and Time Machine with the last several builds of OS X 10.7.2.”

Re. MDN Take:
Call it what you will. MobileMe’s best features (e.g. photo gallery and iDisk file sharing) will be hard to replace. iCloud is a big downgrade as far as I’m concerned. Different strokes for different folks.
I agree and would add the loss of iWeb hosting to the list of things Apple is dropping that I don’t understand. Seems like poor treatment of loyal customers/users of features we have been willing to pay for. Doesn’t make any sense.
Well if you write in to complain about the missing features I’m sure Apple will see the light and reinstate gallery, iDisk and iWeb, if enough people make a stink about it. See FCS 7.
totally agree! iCloud is a very weak replacement for MobileMe. If only Apple could have done MobileMe right, it would not have had its name dragged through the mud. I have absolutely NO interest in iCloud.
I will miss the sync of rules/accounts across all three of my macs. Now I have to remember what I did at home the night before? I know it seems trivial, but I paid $100 bucks to not worry about it.

I have 2 iWeb sites and am not real happy about losing them. One of the reason’s I convinced people to get .Mac/MobilMe accounts was this feature. That and iDisk.
