“No surprises here: The Mac continues to kick ass,” John Paczkowski reports for AllThingsD. “And it’s kicking a lot of it in Asia.”
“Needham analyst Charlie Wolf notes that June marked the 21st consecutive quarter that Mac shipment growth exceeded that of the PC market,” Paczkowski reports. “Mac shipments grew 14.6 percent for the month — more than five times the PC market’s growth rate of 2.7 percent.”

“Driving that growth tear: The home and business markets and Asia. Mac shipments rose 13 percent in a global home market that declined .3 percent overall. In the business market, they grew 31.5 percent, more than six times the five percent growth rate charted by the rest of the market. And in Asia, they simply blew the roof off the market with shipments that grew 67.6 percent thanks to soaring demand in China,” Paczkowski reports. “Wolf figures the region accounted for a jaw-dropping 55.2 percent of the year-over-year growth in worldwide Mac shipments.”

Dare I say it… a sanguine ablution.

Man Think Different kick ass in market.

Also due to the fact of a lot of fake apple stores in china
Despite the size of the Chinese consumer market, those jackass hedge fund managers say they doubt that Apple can continue to grow revenue. That’s the problem with idiots running financial institutes that don’t seem to have a clue about growth prospects for their investors. Too damn many fund managers have their hooks into Apple shares as far as I’m concerned and because of their outright stupidity, Apple shares will continue to lag.
There’s no way that Apple’s share movement should be hiccuping the way it is as their rivals continue to steadily lose market share.
China is a walled-garden society; I wouldn’t bet my future on them just yet either. A runaway success in China may see Apple products gaining serious envy from the local/Asian competition, and soon Apple may face bans etc. by the regime within the next spring revolution.
China is good business, so long they’re busy studying you, ask Cisco.
People, this isn’t as great as it sounds. Think about it: 55% growth of a 2% market share means they now have about a 3% market share. While “55% year-over-year growth” sounds great, in reality it won’t mean a whole lot until Apple’s absolute market share approaches something like 20%. Until then, it’s good news, but nothing to celebrate quite yet…
Uhm, no.
55% growth of a 2% marketshare in a country with a population of over 1.3B is huge! Apple doesn’t need huge penetration to gobble up must of the profits in a market.
The percentages are misleading, the growth is not. Mac sales are approaching 20% if you count slates. If iPads are computers, and they are by usage, computer dictionary definitions and the fact they are replacing computers for many people, then Apple is the number one computer maker in the world right now.
Here’s the deal. Apple already sell these products and their bottom line is already paid for. Every additional product sold is adding to their profit.
Remember Apple are gaining market share without having to drop prices and cut margins. This is what separates them from every other computer and device maker.
That and the fact that there’s only ONE Mac OS X and ONE iOS.
A user can easily dump one generic PC for another generic PC.
There’s only ONE Apple.
And every one is running windows!
Trust me I used to live in China. I can’t every do online banking without windows. When you buy one they will ask if you want them to install windows.
I don’t think Apple cares.
