HP bastardizes Lou Reed song in commercial featuring bastardized iPad (with video)

“It seems but a year ago that famed right-wing singer Stephen Colbert launched the iPad at the Grammys,” Chris Matyszczyk reports for CNET. “Principally because it was.”

“So at [last night’s] Grammys, it was HP’s turn to touch the nation’s hearts, with its TouchPad,” Matyszczyk reports. “And some may decide that HP’s musical contribution was created by someone very touched indeed.”

  1. First of all, anyone who thinks that Colbert is actually a right-winger is deluded. He parodies a far right stance to show how ridiculous that extreme is, just as others parody/crucify the far left.

Second of all, even the HP lyrics can’t destroy that Lou Reed music. It flows like melted chocolate despite “everybody frag.”

  2. HP could not have innovated itself out of a paperbag since the last century. I mean what has HP done that’s struck you as memorable these last 10 years apart from suckling at Microsoft’s teats. I could if I wanted to make that Apotheker bastard kneel before me and fondle my favorite left testicle so enthralled is he with the server software that Microsoft puts out to support his business division. Let’s face it without Microsoft HP would be peddling cheap ass printers by the pavement in Times Square, that’s how pathetic their product development stream is.

Now they’re talking about putting webOS in their line of PCs? Don’t make me laugh. All I need do to stop this nonsensical idea is summon that Apotheker bastard to the throne room in Redmond and read the riot act out to him. That’ll stop any funny ideas in his head.

  3. HP will be the leading tablet maker within 3 years, though they’ll likely accomplish that earlier with more choices, better pricing and broader implementation in the market. Apple’s days are numbered on this front. Let’s hope they shift to TV or something else to remain relevant.

  4. Hey! But it looks like a great spot for Apple iPad and brothers until the end. I bet that 9 out of 10 that watched it, thought that was an Apple commercial…!! It’s just the logo at the end that doesn’t match!! Big communication mistake for HP! Huge!
