“We just got our hands on some information about the upcoming Mac App Store,” Mark Gurman reports for 9 to 5 Mac.
“First here’s a screenshot of the login page you will need to pass through in order to download apps,” Gurman reports. “What’s interesting based on the description is that you will be able to use your Apple Account, iTunes account, or MobileMe account to download apps.”
Gurman reports, “As we recently reported the Mac App Store will not feature in app purchases or Game Center support. Also, Mac OS X 10.6.6 will let you search for apps needed to open unsupported files.”

Sweet! Can’t wait for this!,
“Mac OS X 10.6.6 will let you search for apps needed to open unsupported files.”
Wow very sharp!
I wonder how long it will be before MS release their ‘Program Files’ store?
The Apple development team that is working on all of this must be hating the Jan. 6th opening date, if that really is the date. And IF the Mac OS X 10.6.6 update is required for the Mac App Store, I don’t see how everything can be in place and ready to go by Jan 6th.
Well, whenever it opens, I look forward to trying it out and seeing how things work.
It would be cool if iTunes gift cards worked for Mac apps, but maybe they’ll be too far removed to make that happen.
What’s the green X ?
