Apple has announced two instances of scheduled maintenance for MobileMe today:
• MobileMe Account Maintenance – 12/14/2010, 10-11pm PT: Due to scheduled maintenance, MobileMe members will be unable to access me.com/account. Normal service is expected to be restored at the end of the maintenance window. Apple apologizes for any inconvenience.
• MobileMe Sync Maintenance – 12/14/2010, 10pm-midnight PT: Due to scheduled maintenance, some MobileMe members may be unable to sync between their computers, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch or view their contacts and calendars at me.com. Normal service is expected to be restored at the end of the maintenance window. Apple apologizes for any inconvenience.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Readers too numerous to mention individually for the heads up.]
Nice. Hopefully improvements.
I posted this comment somewhere else today…forgot where.
Can you imagine Steve perched on top of that golden apple in front of the farm down in Maiden, NC, saying… “Release the Kracken!”
Scheduled maintenance my a**.

Good! About time. MM has fouled up my bookmarks so many times I can’t remember. It works fine with Safari browsers on OSX & XP, but makes multiple duplicates when I sync with IE. This, in spite of multiple resets…..come on MS, err I mean Apple!
Wingsy: Oh, totally!
And WHY don’t they send out an announcement to all of their MobileMe subscribers? Why do I have to come here to find this out? Gee, have they lost our email addresses?
In the middle of a work week? It will still be 8pm here in Honolulu.
pardon us while we move all your mobile me goodness to our new god server farm in NC. By 11pm you should notice yourself stop aging and your body get more muscular while you are using mobile me.
@ Wings2Sky
Great point!
@JBM
You’re the one who continues to subject yourself to IE.
@Wings2Sky
You don’t have to come here. Go to the MobileMe support page. On the right side of the page under Announcements.

I assume that they are bringing the service over to the billion dollar server farm. “It is on schedule” for this quarter and month. How soon we forget.
Are you suggesting we should have to visit a web site to hear about the scheduled maintenance?
Do you daily trawl every announcement page of every service you use to make discover if maintenance is happening or not?
U R an IDIOT!
@JimR,

But I don’t regularly go to check that web site. Kind of boring.
But you are not an idiot.
Just sayin’
Well, iDisk seems snappier, or it’s just early in the morning and load is light.
@Wings2Sky
You are absolutely correct, they not only have our MobileMe addresses, but also a back (incase we loose our passwords). How about an email blast to us. Oh wait, it’s because you can’t have mail lists! Well that’s not entirely true, you use the work around, but come on really for $99 yearly fee it’s a standard feature we should have.
Perhaps this will be our turn at the new password requirement?
