MacDailyNews Note: Bonus app: StarWalk ($4.99). Star Walk is your personal planetarium that can answer to all your curiosities about the sky. For anyone who is interested in stargazing, amateurs or professionals Star Walk makes discovering more than 9,000 stars, planets, and constellations beautiful and easy. Tilt your iPad skyward and the ”Star Spotter” function will be activated and a live representation of what you see in the sky will appear on your display and the sky will start following your movements right, left, up, and down, spurting out information about whatever you point your iPad towards.
Kindle has the content and is not locked to the iPad. Kindle books run on Windows, Mac, iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, Android. Search the iBooks store for 10 titles and then the Kindle most will be on Kindle- not many on iBooks.
Don’t be a fanboi.

ummmmm why is HULU on there? Has anyone tried to use it? It totally sucks and you have to pay for the same stuff that you get for free on the internet. dude go look at the ratings…..its like one of the lowest rated apps on the app store. Hulu wants to charge waaaayyyy too much. Take out the Ads and Ill pay $10 but charge $10 and Ads and you totally suck

MDN: Yes to Star Walk. One of my most used.
My most often used is ZAP2it. Great TV guide. Have set up guides for different genres, i.e., prime time favorites, news channels, HD, Movie channels, etc., and my wife has her decorating shows. With over 850 channels from which to choose, ZAP2it is a joy for a number of reasons.
Another is SoundNote. †
And a must for everyone is TapTyping.** Has more than doubled my virtual typing speed in less than a week just by spending less than 15 minutes a day on it. Perhaps one day if I keep practicing I will beat that girl*** that can type over 90 words a minute on her iPad.

The new updates to Keynote and Numbers make those killer apps on the iPad. Export to PPT and XLS and much else is improved. They’re now ready for duty.

@Figurative
And I don’t want your reactionary FUD on my MacDailyNews forum. NPR is worthy of respect, regardless of your political ideology.

@Bizzarro,
I’ll say this as politely as possible;
FSCK OFF and go troll elsewhere. OK?

Took my iPad to Astronomy class a couple of weeks ago. We went outside to observe the sky on a fairly clear night but there were some stars that were difficult to see, so I pull out the ‘Pad and turn on Star Walk. Before I realized it I had half the class looking at the heavens on my iPad… and totally upstaged my prof in the process. To make matters worse, the prof misidentified a couple of stars and another student corrected him. Oops.
My vote goes to Star Walk.

The iPad is great. Some good apps in here… but no to Twitter. Bad implementation… of a bad service.
