“Eric Bauswell, a founder and chief executive of the engineering design company SurfaceInk, confirmed on Thursday that his company and Apple had ‘gone separate directions,'” Helft reports. “Mr. Bauswell declined to give details of its relationship with Apple, citing client confidentiality agreements. But he said that his company was let go because of ‘Apple’s growing awareness of our turnkey capabilities,’ referring to SurfaceInk’s business of designing products for its clients. ‘I think they view our capabilities as an opportunity for competitors,’ he said.”

MacDailyNews Take: Instead of paying to run an ad, just call tech reporters with your “story” and see who bites.

Helft reports, “The incident underscores the growing pressure that Apple is facing in the market for tablet computers. While the iPad currently dominates that market, many rival products are expected to be released soon.”

  2. Maybe they are not so critical “partners” otherwise they would have bought the company.
Prove is they are not that reliable as they are using the work they did for Apple against Apple. Nice mentality!!!

  3. Don’t you just love this FUD stuff!!! You’d think by now the competition would try a different approach, one that might actually work.

Especially when you don’t know how the competition will come out.

    Maybe it will stink.
Maybe it will go away quietly without anyone noticing.
Maybe it will make some noise and cause embarrassment.
    Maybe it will be crap.
