Apple begins catching up to demand: iPad and iPhone supply constraints finally starting to ease

Apple Store“LG Display is the company behind the iPad’s 9.7-inch LCD screen,” Eric Zeman reports for InformationWeek. “According to a new research note from Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar, the company must have made some changes. The wait time for new iPads has dropped from seven to 10 days (when ordered from the Apple Web site) down to three to five.”

“LG hasn’t confirmed if it boosted production, but the reduced wait times suggest as much,” Zeman reports.

“As for the iPhone, Kumar believes the wait will be significantly less by September,” Zeman reports. “If ordered today, customers wanting an iPhone 4 will have to wait three weeks for the device to ship.”
