iPad and iPhone trade-in programs now available from PowerMax

PowerMax Inc., an Apple Authorized Specialist and online destination for the latest in Apple products, as well as discontinued and used Macs and iPods, today launched new trade-in programs for both the iPhone and iPad. Staffed by the same experts who have evaluated and processed thousands of Mac and iPod trade-ins over the past 20 years – these new services extend PowerMax’s offerings into the hottest segment of Apple’s business – mobile devices.

“Let’s face it – there’s no industry today that changes as often as the electronics industry, especially with computers and handheld devices,” said PowerMax CEO Kevin Anderson, in the press release. “But moving from one generation to another can be a hassle, and risky. We make the process safe and easy. Plus, due to the quality of Apple products, we really have very few issues with the units that are traded in. We’ve built quite a name for ourselves with our selection of used Macs. It was a natural fit for us to extend these programs to the iPhone and iPad.”

Compared to companies offering dedicated iPhone & iPad trade-in/upgrades for cash, PowerMax can offer considerably more aggressive trade-in valuations (often 10-15% higher) on every iPhone and iPad model – new or used – because the credits are applied to purchases made through PowerMax.

As an Apple authorized reseller PowerMax offers all the latest Apple products – along with tens of thousands of other products – simplifying the process of trading in an iPhone or iPad to purchase accessories or another gadget. Since traded-in iPhones and iPads will be refurbished and resold by PowerMax, the used devices stay out of the waste stream, promoting reuse and provide a more cost-effective option for consumers looking to save on an iPhone or iPad.

The trade-in process is quick and easy – with device condition and market conditions affecting trade-in values.

PowerMax customers visit the Trade-in Program page, select a device – iPad, iPhone, iPod or Mac computer, enter the model, specs, condition and any original accessories that may be included in the trade, and submit contact information via web form.

A PowerMax trade-in expert responds to the submission with a quoted value for the device. If the customer agrees to the quoted value, they’re given instructions on sending it into PowerMax. When received, an Apple product expert performs a thorough evaluation and verifies the value and condition of the device. Once a device is accepted, trade-in credits can be issued in two ways:

1) via check or credit card reimbursement if a customer has already made a purchase through PowerMax
2) held on account for future purchases

  1. In the Portland area The Macpac has been doing this for quite some time now. They also offer iphone repair. The techs do a wonderful job and the people are friendly. Everyone I know wouldn’t go anywhere else.

PowerMax must be a sponsor or something…

  2. @Truth:

PM is one of the best companies I’ve ever dealt with. They’ve been around too many years to be shady, plus they are recommended by numerous other sites around the web, most notably Bearfeats.com
    .
For some reason particular to you, you just had a bad experience.

  3. More than one occasion, more than one customer of mine have had similar experiences. So perhaps your experience is unique.

I do not know or care what bearfeats.com says or even is. Don’t believe everything you read on the Internets..

No, I have no ax to grind, just an opinion formed from experiences with the company. I find them to be shady. I, and several of my customers expected better..

  4. Seems a bit early to be announcing an iPad trade-in program.

I guess someone with a WiFi-only iPad may want to get one with 3G+WiFi. What a great deal for PowerMax if there are a lot of such people who don’t want to sell that iPad on their own… PowerMax gives you store credit for your lightly used iPad (that’s still under warranty), sells it to someone else for probably at least 80% of the regular “new” price, then you use that store credit toward buying another new (more expensive) iPad from PowerMax.

  5. These guys are great. I have traded-in 4 MacBooks and MacBook Pros over the last 6 years. Always gave me a reasonable price. And I didn’t have to hassle with trying to sell it to a 3rd party.
PS: I have some other good APPS from aneesoft want to recommend. Maybe someone will like it.
