    The early versions of Ripit were great but after they were sold to the latest mob the software went downhill real fast. I threw one disc at it and the software hung.

    I went Mactheripper(MTR) version 3.14M. Version four is now out (for a “donation” of$US50). You don’t receive the software unless you make a donation.

    I’ve tried practically every application on the market such as Fairmount, DVD Ripper and Ripit and I keep coming back to MTR. And I refuse to load windows on my iMac. Why somebody doesn’t come out with a viable alternative to MTR is beyond me.

    I have never seen such whining over the name of an application. It’s just programming code compiled and packaged together with a label.

    With an attitude like that, I wouldn’t be suprised if some people were turned away because the icon wasn’t shiny enough.
