Apple patent application details mysterious pico projectors

Apple Online Store“In June of 2009 Apple tried to bury the fact that they had begun preliminary R&D on integrating Pico Projectors into future iPhones and/or other Apple media players – but Patently Apple broke the news,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple.

“Nine months later a new mysterious projection system patent has emerged,” Purcher reports. “After careful review, we’re now able to see that Apple is taking their pico projector research and development to the next level.”

Purcher reports, “Apple is now exploring multiple avenues of incorporating pico projectors into their hardware which includes a new and very intriguing application. Apple’s patent appears to be describing their work on a few different types of projection systems as opposed to a single projector system. According to Apple’s patent, the projector could be integrated into a dedicated remote controller associated with the projection system or it could be offered as an auxiliary client device such s an iPhone, iPod touch (PDA) or laptop.”

  1. This just in:

“Initial pre-order sales estimates for the new iShow handheld multimedia projector exceed 1 million in first hour” reports (insert name), anonymous Microsoft shill.

MDN Take: If this hit-whore “expert” would get his head out of his buttocks, he would realize that numerous sales estimates have actually exceeded 4-5 million. We wouldn’t be surprised if this number is dwarfed. Fools.

  2. @Spark, he’s referring to the non-existent iShow. I know we are all in iPad prediction mode.. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

  3. Generic coward ‘Slater’ sez:
“Oh that’s right.. Apple doesn’t steal.. it innovates.. *yawn*”

Apple does steal, and often admits it. What is particularly stooopid about your statement is the creation of a myth that no one EVER says ‘Apple doesn’t steal’. Quite wrong. In fact Apple is well known to have some of the most critical and exacting customers in the world. Compare that to the sheeple who accept anything Microsoft, no matter how crappy, poor and retrograde it may be. Very sad.
