“In a new note to investors Tuesday, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster provided the latest NPD Group data for January, the first month of the company’s March quarter,” AppleInsider reports. “The 36 percent growth over 2009 implies a range of 2.6 million to 2.8 million Mac sales could be possible in the three month frame. Munster said Wall Street expects Apple to sell 2.6 million Macs.”

AppleInsider reports, “Apple is expected to refresh its MacBook Pro notebooks this quarter, which could also offer a boost to sales in the next few months. Munster noted that just one month of Mac sales makes the quarter difficult to forecast.”

  1. The teabaggers are the ones who will destroy Obama and his failed policies. Explain another reason why NOT ONE Obama policy has been signed into law during the time he had a SUPER majority in congress?

  2. Ballmer needs to order more Lauren (clueless) ads. The more the merrier. People aren’t stupid. They can see right through that crap MS is trying to pull.

Is that dude still doing cartwheels? Or did he go off kilter and smashed into a corner wall? hahaha

Restraint? A spirit of bipartisanship? Not being a complete dick?

These factors didn’t stop the Gops from passing anything they wanted with a measly 51 seats, you’ll remember.

…and for this, I curse the vile Dems and their panty-waste milquetoast mentality. If they had any minerals at all, they would have used the SUPER majority to outlaw religion, guns, capitalism, and anything involving the word ‘heritage’. Oh, and they’d also have given Alaska to THAT TERRIFYING FUCKER PUTIN.

Screw it. I’m voting for Kodos.

  4. Phones, pods and pads will ebb and flow with every new one having some tweak to its gadgetry – only the Mac and its superb OS will sustain Apple’s future.

And, that will only happen if Steve accepts nothing less than the truth to his claim that it ‘just works’!!!!

  5. @ChrissyOne:

I’ve just read all of your post in response to the numbnuts teabagger… and wow.

Nice going, agree totally – except the Kudos part.

Oh btw, nicely done spelling milquetoast correctly. There’s only a few of us left…

  6. This is an apple blog, not a YouTube comment board. Let’s leave the politics out of it. Both sides have been screwing us over for half a century, just to advance political agendas. And @chrissyone, who brought in politics, quality products have always sold well through economic downturns, obama’s policy or “stimulus” had no effect on mac sales, just like the rest of the economy. Your lack of point is evident when you must revert to calling gradeschool nicknames. Stick to commentating on tech stuff, politics aren’t your forte.

Okay, you must be new. Hi there! Welcome to MDN. We talk primarily about Mac and computer stuff, but often our geek-time is interrupted by long, meandering digressions into Pol-Space. There, you’re likely to encounter Dems and Gops aplenty, screaming about Commies and Nazis that lurk around every corner.
Never fear, my friend. These tirades are likely to last no more than about 4 or 5 pages before we all get tired and fall back to cheap fart jokes.

  8. “Munster noted that just one month of Mac sales makes the quarter difficult to forecast.”

That’s why they call it forecasting, not reporting. It takes a little more research and a bit of thinking. In this case, however, analysts are already starting with 1/3 of the answer. Don’t whine to me about how hard it is. The amateurs have been kicking the nads off of the so-called professionals.

It apparently takes *three* months of actuals before an analyst can even come close to an accurate quarterly number ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”tongue wink” style=”border:0;” />

The reason for my sarcastic comment against teabaggers was that I’m sick of them interrupting MDN with their anti-Obama rhetoric and blaming him for everything when it’s all clearly Bush’s fault. Oh wait…

Clearly I’m a self knowing poitical troll trying to show MDN’s audience the superficial hyprocrisy of BOTH of America’s poitical sides.

But then MDN themselves aren’t exactly immune to political flamebaiting…
