  1. Here’s a creepy thought for you. It kinda makes sense that Michael Dell will also be glued to his computer, reading the live blogs from the Apple event. kinda like a deer staring at the headlights of the Mack truck bearing down on him. Only this would be the headline ” Dell becomes roadkill. Run down by a Mac truck on the Information Super Highway!

  2. This is pretty exciting. I know I should get a life, but right now, all I want to know, is what Stevo is going to bring to the world. There’s just no one in the world that defines the future like Apple.

    Got yer popcorn? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  3. Yappari, just like I thought – so far, I am not very interested in the iPad… I’ll just keep using my iPod touch – it seems to be able to most of what he is saying about the iPad, and I already have it! Now, an 11″ MacBook – a REAL Mac, would surely interest me!

  4. There’s not even any new multi-touch gestures?

And apparently it can’t run multiple third party apps at the same time, are you kidding me? Which means iPhone 4.0 probably won’t, either.

I feel like I’ve just been told Santa Clause isn’t real. Fsck me for falling for the hype.

  5. @dotar – “…what this can do that the iPhone and iPod Touch cannot, otherwise, what would have been the point in its creation?”

There you have it; what is the point? I feel about like this the same way I did about the Cube – what’s the point? If it does games great, it will probably sell – but, alas, I am not a gamer… If the price is right.

  6. What am I getting that so many of you aren’t. I have an iPhone 3GS and it’s great for many things. However, it’s to small to be a reader and even the games, as fun as they are, are limited due to size. People are looking for portability. Trust me, I am an older college grad student and I hear this and see this in the younger gens. It’s portable but a helluva lot better than the iPhone/iPod touch. 0.5 inch thick and 1.5 lbs? Are you kidding me. Slips into a bag a purse, won’t even notice it. You may all be geeks as I am and, perhaps desire more power, but the average user is going to love this.

  7. Think of all the people who would love to use an iPhone but the screen size is too small; the elderly, those with vision problems, etc. A larger iPhone without the phone capabilities is going to be perfect for those folks. Depending on price point, I may ditch my iPhone and go with the iPad combined with a regular cellphone; I really don’t make that many calls on my phone anyway, most of my iPhone use is checking the Internet and using the apps.

  8. I am surprised at the harshness here. That’s a B-u-tiful form factor in my opinion. What have you seen that’s as fine? Yes, it is a big iPhone, but netbooks are selling like crazy – that’s what John Q Public wants.
