“Apple this week is equipping developers with a new beta of Mac OS X 10.6.2, the second maintenance and security update to the company’s new Snow Leopard operating system that will perform upgrades to nearly 150 components,” AppleInsider reports.
“The latest beta, labeled Mac OS X 10.6.2 build 10C535, comes one week after the Mac maker issued build 10C531 to address issues with Snow Leopard’s Dock, ColorSync, QuartzCore and graphic driver components,” AppleInsider reports.
“In bare bones Delta form, Mac OS X 10.6.2 currently weighs in at roughly 480MB. It’s expected for release sometime next month,” AppleInsider reports.

MacDailyNews Note: Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2 was also a behemoth, weighing in at 343MB for the Combo Update.
Me likes the big girls.
room in there for PowerPC support!?!
Wow. Half a gig. I’ll be selling CDs in front of the apple store.
Thats a biggun’. Hope it fixes some of the random wonkiness I’ve experienced. Cross fingers ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />
So does this mean it’s “imminent”?
I hope 10.6.2 fixes iChat AV.
So, that 6 GB’s I got back from the install…seems I was just borrowing it for a little while.
Please have a fix in there for Mail. I just can’t fix that stupid issue with email that is already in my inbox getting reloaded, giving me duplicates.
Yes, I’ve tried the fixes on the Apple discussion boards. No, they have not worked.
@ Gosh, I sure hope you’re kidding…
@ Jimbo
I have the same issue. Frustrating.
Snow Leopard update has gone smooth as silk for me.
THIS is why we WAIT for a few point updates before jumping in and doing major system upgrades!!!
I ALSO just odered my Vectorworks 2010 Upgrade today, which ALSO just had it’s first service pack 1 … Cheeses, I loathe the term .. . It makes me think of Fudge Pack and Microsoft… Which really DO go together!!!
Basically, 10.6 has been very good for me, just some minor irritations that seldom repeat.
I think 10.6 must have had a lot more under the hood stuff than we realized.
Compare it to a Windows upgrade.
We have a lot less drama. Irritations, yes, but things still work.
love snow leap., the few glitches are minor compared to speed increase i’ve experienced.
yeah, for the most part its been really smooth. Just a few minor things. I did get a KP though for the first time ever. I was in Aperture 2 when it happened. I guess there are some fixes for that as well.
148 components that have seen tweaks including AppleBacklight. Seriously? AppleBacklight? What could possibly be tweak with the backlight? The steps of brightness?
I’m a Mac, and 10.6.2 was my idea.
Hope this fixes USAA’s banking feature deposit@home. SL screwed up the java or something
Massive Snow Leopard Update = One Fat Cat
I hope this resolves those massive memory leaks I experience with Safari. They were bad before but gaaawwwwd; I can’t run it more than a day or two before it chews up almost 2 GB of RAM. Then I have to close it down and restart it. And unlike Firefox, I lose what I had in my open tabs.
Beach ball of death / crashes often on wake-up since Snow Leopard. Hope it gets fixed. Reminds me of my past in Windows.

For the most part, the update should replace existing components, not add hundreds of megabytes of new ones.
Hope it adds support for the 7d.
@Deus Ex Technica
LOL

Sounds like a third party RAM problem.
I bought SL day one, and have had zero problems on an 24″ iMac, what are you running SL on?
