Pink Visual shoots first porno on Apple iPhone 3GS

“Adult video company, Pink Visual, has found a way to get porn onto the iPhone despite Apple’s restrictions on sexy apps. The company also claims to have shot the first porn scene using an iPhone 3GS,” Jonny Evans reports for Distorted-Loop. “Product Manager Kim Kysar said, ‘We figured this was the next logical step in our ongoing fascination with the iPhone…I think it’s safe to say we’re the most ‘iPhone-centric’ porn company around.'”

Evans reports, “Director Matt Morningwood, who shot the new scene for Pink Visual, said ‘If anything, it was too easy to shoot with the iPhone – I’m used to HD cameras, boom mics, and all sorts of other peripherals being part of the deal. The only thing that was difficult was holding the phone steady.'”

Evans reports, “Morningwood said that while the iPhone obviously didn’t yield the same sort of quality and clarity that one gets from a high-end HD camera, the footage has a rawness to it that ‘actually contributes to the overall strength of the scene and due to its small size, allows for it to cover certain angles and close ups a little better then a standard video camera.'”

Kysar said that Pink Visual has no interest in ‘playing games’ with the App Store, and that promoting their iPhone-optimized content outside of the App Store offers the company both greater flexibility and better return on its investment,” Evans reports. “‘Don’t get me wrong; we’d love to be able to distribute our content through a ‘proper’ iPhone app,’ Kysar said. ‘But the rules are the rules, and that’s all entirely Apple’s call. Our focus is giving our iPhone-using fans the best viewing experience we can, not trying to influence Apple’s opinion concerning hardcore porn.'”

Evans reports, “Pink Visual is considering making iPhone footage a regular feature of its productions.”

MacDailyNews Take: Ha. Morningwood. Hey, RIM’s falling behind, it sounds like you have a job to do.

  1. Thanks MDN for keeping us a-breast of this situation.

Better watch out, everyone – MicroSoft (shirley you can get pills for that condition?) may try to slip some Zune footage through by the back door…

  2. Carlos:

That is an old urban myth. It is not true. VHS beat Beta because at the time, VHS was the only one that had EP and LP modes, allowing six hours of uninterrupted video on a single standard 2-hour NTSC cassette. This allowed American men to tape an entire baseball game, so they could spend a summer Sunday afternoon somewhere outdoors with the family, and then watch the game later at home. That was the single most important reason; not porn.

When format wars resurfaced with HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray, many had argued that HD-DVD would win, since porn industry chose it over Blu-Ray. We all know how that turned out.

Porn is a (relatively) small segment of home video industry. In the US, it turns about $1 billion annually (compared to almost $100B for “mainstream” home video). There is absolutely no way porn industry can influence ANYTHING. However, in order to better server their customers, they have to keep up with the technology. After all, it IS a $1B industry, and there is some serious (and healthy) competition within it.

  3. It’s not “the first porn movie” shot on an iPhone 3GS. I have been make porn flicks since I got my phone. What a ridiculous story, is this news. He films sex using a cell phone camera, oh yeah that’s new.

  4. Whatever:

I’m sure you are not the only one documenting his bedroom heroic deeds with an iPhone. However, the article talks about a commercial porn studio using the iPhone for shooting (and releasing) a commercial adult film, which will be distributed and sold on the porn market. There’s a difference.

  5. “Then it could be viewed on iPhones and iPod touches.”

To clarify what I meant, I should’ve said that it could be viewed on computers and iPhones/iPod touches without any conversion necessary.

@anthony007, most of those sites suck. The best free iPhone/iPod touch porn site I’ve come across is tube8.com. They have a separate H.264 vid for all of their videos and a very diverse collection that grows larger everyday.

  6. I am posting from the Middle East. Porn is enjoyed here just like other places, if not more.

Haven’t you ever read the Perfumed Garden?

The Middle East doesn’t hate anyone for their porn. Quite the contrary in fact.

May be those hundreds of military bases and Abu Ghraib have something to do with it?

Bur then expecting rationality from Americans about their foreign policy is always a losing game.

    Posted from my iPhone.
