World awaits Apple’s iPhone OS 3.0 release today

Buy a Mac, Get a FREE Olympus 10MP CameraiPhone OS 3.0 software will be available on June 17 as a free software update via iTunes 8.2 or later for all iPhone customers.

iPod touch customers will be able to purchase a software update for US$9.95.

As for hardware, Apple’s new iPhone 3G S will be available in the United States of America on June 19 for a suggested retail price of $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the new 32GB model in Apple’s retail and online stores, AT&T’s online and retail stores, and in Best Buy and Wal-Mart stores.

MacDailyNews Note: According the MacNN, iPhone OS 3.0 release will come “at approximately 10AM Pacific time, or 1PM Eastern. Deployment through iTunes should be roughly synchronous worldwide, for instance occurring at 6PM in the UK, and later in Asia and the rest of Europe.” Full article here.
