Major League Baseball has released ‘MLB.com At Bat 2009’ which offers users exclusive pitch type, location, and speed data make At Bat 2009 the fastest, most detailed way to follow baseball on your iPhone and iPod touch.
This year, ‘MLB.com At Bat 2009’ offers subscribers (this app must be purchased once each season) live audio of every regular season and postseason game with your choice of home or visiting team announcers.
As with last year’s versions’, you can also watch the best plays of the game moments after they happen. The app will detect your connection speed to deliver the optimal quality video.
‘MLB.com At Bat 2009’ costs US$9.99 (up from $4.99 for last year’s version which did not feature live game audio). More info via Apple’s iTunes App Store here.
MacDailyNews Note: MLB.com’s online Gameday Audio product alone costs US$14.95, so this iPhone app looks like a good deal for just the audio alone. So, if you got that Sirius/XM subscription just for MLB baseball, you don’t need it anymore. Sorry, Mel. iPhone’s bloodbath is dispensed mercilessly.
Major League Baseball’s ‘MLB.com At Bat Lite’ is also available. The app is free and can be used as a quick way keep up with all the day’s scores and see how your favorite team is doing. Real-time game updates, league standings and the entire season schedule are also available in the free ‘Lite’ version. More info via Apple’s iTunes App Store: here.
MacDailyNews Take: We bought and used this app last year and recommended it highly. We just purchased this year’s, too. It’s simply a must for baseball fans.
