“Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek today raised his rating on Apple (AAPL) to Speculative Buy from Hold, while increasing his target price to $110, from $90. Misek writes in a research note that the upgrade primarily reflects the prospect for the launch of new iPhones in the coming quarters,” Eric Savitz reports for Barron’s.
Savitz reports, “Misek repeated his previous view that there are three potential iPhone upgrades coming in 2009:”
• A 32 GB version
• A lower cost version for China and India
•A small form factor version
“For the March quarter, Misek now sees shipments of 2.2 million Macs, 9.1 million iPods and 2.7 million iPhones,” Savitz reports. “For FY 2009 ending in September, he sees 9.2 million Macs, down from 9.8 million; 50.7 million iPods, down from 55.2 million, and 16.9 million iPhones, up from 14.4 million… For FY 2010, he now sees 10.8 million Macs, down from 11.2 million; 44.6 million iPods, down from 52.9 million; but 35.8 million iPhones, up from 20 million.”
