BusyMac offers four free iCal utilities

BusyMac offers users of Apple’s iCal four free iCal utilities:

iCal Cleaner: Over time, iCal can become filled with all kinds of bogus data like duplicate events, blank events, duplicate alarms and more. All of this extra baggage adds up and can make iCal sluggish. iCal Cleaner is a free utility designed to clean up common problems in iCal. Just launch iCal Cleaner, select the calendars you want to clean and the action you want to perform, and click Start. Then sit back and let iCal Cleaner do the rest.

iCal Archiver: If you’ve been using a Mac for years, you probably have hundreds or thousands of old events stored in iCal. All of that legacy data can bog down iCal and make it slow. And if you’re syncing your calendars with others using BusySync, you’re probably slowing them down too. You can significantly increase the performance of iCal by archiving these old events using iCal Archiver.

NUD to iCal: Back in the day, Now Up-to-Date (NUD) was the undisputed champion of calendar sharing for Mac users. We know, we’re the original developers. But it’s getting a little long in the tooth, and doesn’t sync with the iPhone, so many NUD users are migrating to iCal. But how do you transfer all those events in NUD to iCal? NUD to iCal is a free utility that copies events from Now Up-to-Date to iCal. It will create a new calendar in iCal for each category in NUD and copy all events to it.

iCal Backup Script: iCal allows you to create a backup file by selecting File > Back up iCal. You can later restore iCal by double-clicking the backup file. Restoring iCal from a backup works great as long as you have a recent backup. But that’s rarely the case. What if you could configure iCal to create backups automatically? You can, with a little help from this AppleScript.
