So Snow Leopard looks the same as Leopard except it’s in German?
As was dicsussed on another site, this is an OLD, OLD build. It’s basically the first developer build, if I”m not mistaken.
Also, are you people slow? It was announced that there would be no new features for the end user. If you find this to be a surprise, you are going to be hugely disappointed.
Looks to me that his system is really snappy!
Yes, as in “Snappy new year”!
With no new features and a “snappier” interface, perhaps this “update” won’t cost $125. Steve said that they are making it more stable, so why should I pay another $125 for stability?
On a brighter note, I really do hope that they make a media server. One that will play everything and not just Mac approved video files, (ie. I want Divx). That, if the price is reasonable with over a 1 TB drive, I would buy.
I’d like Apple to make a media server that can out drobo the Drobo. But if it runs under iTunes, then forgeddaboutit.
Am I the only one to point out that there is something wrong with the obvious? UNIVERSAL Binaries in an INTEL only environment?
The music intro is the #1 track of the Enigma variations? Very cool for the video

@ clyde
“Can someone tell me what is up with the Germans and techno-pop?”
Agreed. We might have to go to war with them again if they keep playing this stuff! ; ) heeh. After The Beatles cutting edge Hamburg era, Germany’s music taste has been questionable.
BUT, having said that, what passes for USA top 40 play here has sucked in the last 10 years. Hot bods, models and shock content are valued, not talent or creativity. Neil Young’s looks or Janis Joplin’s weight would have got them kicked out the door on first sight by today’s music moguls. Talent need not apply.
Meine Güte, Snow Leopard ist sehr bissig!
I think Apple is going to step up the plate in the hardware department…
Why?
With Windows 7 beta been reviewed as major improvement over Vista, from everyone who has tested it… Apple will always have outdated specs compared to PCs… That said.. Apple will need to bring newer and faster hardware out if it wants to rise in market share….
One OF many sites reviewed Windows 7 as…
‘Windows 7 beta tested, photo’d, deemed ‘massive improvement’ over Vista.’
Apple’s famous commercials will need a new revamp as well. I firmly believe that Apple has a lot on its plate for 2009/10.
If Windows 7 does hold true to been faster and less buggy… It will be the hardware that people will go for…. FW, Blu Ray, Faster processors, more HD space, RAM, the lastest and greatest video cards etc…
So Apple if you are out there listening… bring the lastest and greatest hardware to the Macs please!

Because Apple developers don’t work for free. Besides, if what you’re using works for you now, DON’T UPGRADE!
As for me, I’m still on Tiger on my home computer but I still recognize Snow Leopard as an important update. I wish more software outfits focused on the back-end instead of putting out more and more features (leading to feature-bloat). It’s important to keep the underlying software lean and mean.
Oh, and I’m one American who likes the ‘techno-pop’. Massive Attack, The Polish Ambassador, Freezepop, Royksopp, The Knife, Justice, Goldfrapp, The Crystal Method… it’s all good.
