  1. “What will Apple do with iPod?”

On September 9th, Steve will activate the birth switch remotely from San Francisco. A worldwide satellite signal will unleash voracious alien creatures within every iPod and iPhone programmed to seek and destroy the Windows and generic PC pandemic.

Avert your eyes. These creatures make the Langoliers look tame.

  2. Boy, Apple has this marketing strategy down cold. Only Apple can create positive news by NOT announcing anything or giving any details.

It’s amazing how many “news” reports about Apple’s events pop up, all basically saying, “Apple didn’t tell us anything (as usual), and we have no sources giving us any hard information, but we suspect X, Y and Z will happen.”

In the next 20 years, the “news” media will either evolve to be instant, accurate info or will degenerate to be nothing more than guys in their underwear spreading rumors from their mom’s basement.

Unfortunately, thus far it’s looking like the latter is occurring.

Who cares. I didn’t know MAC still made I-Pods. If it doesn’t play WMA format files why bother?

The question everyone should be asking is what colors will the new Zune socks come in?

    Your potential. Our passion.™

  4. Wow man, this guy can like see into the future. I wonder where he keeps his magic obvious ball. I’d love to look into it. I’m sure it would say something like, “Apple looks to keep improving its computers.”

  5. A worldwide satellite signal will unleash voracious alien creatures […] programmed to seek and destroy the Windows and generic PC pandemic

    Sounds like Windows Update.

Apple just needs to watch the hilarity, and have enough Macs and iPhones ready for the switchers….

  6. Would an “iPod Flip” be too obvious?
Think color screen on top, multi-touch track pad on bottom. Or color multi-touch top and bottom?

Anyway the iPod line does seem kinda filled-out. Hard to think of much hardware-wise outside of price & capacity adjustments.

  7. @ZuneTang

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
    BABAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

    What A HOOT!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!

“..what colors will the new Zune socks come in?”

    You’re a riot!! OMG ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!

    Somebody help me…..LOLOLOLOL…….

  8. “In the next 20 years, the “news” media will either evolve to be instant, accurate info or will degenerate to be nothing more than guys in their underwear spreading rumors from their mom’s basement.”

Hey, BizLaw, we’re already there! Look at the 64 hour news coverage of which the first 30 hours was telling us what to expect. I won’t even go into politics, but suffice it to say that it no better than your “guys in their underwear spreading rumors from their mom’s basement.”

  9. What an idiot! The iPod touch is not cheaper than the iPhone.

    iPhone 3G 8GB – $599
    iPod touch 8GB – $299

    iPhone 3G 16GB – $699
    iPod touch 16GB – $399

Just because its subsidized doesn’t make it cheaper. The iPod touch is already cheaper when compared to the standalone price points of the iPhone. I’m sure Apple would give you the iPod touch cheaper too if you didn’t mind signing a 2 year term paying a minimum of $70/mo.

  10. It is interesting to me just how close the iPod touch is to a Skype phone – just add mike and access to a wifi network and a speaker in the right place.

Still don’t understand why the iPhone doesn’t have a front-facing camera. It is the closest thing to a 1960’s pulp sci-fi videophone wristwatch that I have ever seen.
