  1. I have the original 17″ MacBook Pro — the Core Duo (not C2D) model from 2006. I haven’t been included in these firmware updates for quite some time. What is it:

    1) There’s nothing to improve upon with my model
    2) All the development is focussed on the newer models.

I feel that I’m being neglected. My MacBook Pro runs great for the most part, but it does suffer the occasional glitch and kernel panic.

Anyone else with this model feel that they could use improvements in their firmware?

  2. I’m looking for something to fix my MacBook fan. I just got the 2.2 Black MacBook and the fan loves to run full blast, even when it’s not very hot. My older 1.8 MacBook didn’t seem to have that problem. Anyone else have that issue? (It doesn’t seem to always listen to the settings I’ve set in Fan Control.)
