MacDailyNews Take: Funded by Microsoft and/or Dell et al. to make Mac users look freakish in an attempt keep the Windows PC sheep in the pen?

  1. For me, the true essence of Mac Users is best exemplified by people like the late great Tera Patricks of Mac360 (may she rest in peace) and ChrissyOne…remarkably bright, witty, charming, articulate, eloquent, helpful, and just plain FUN! They make life more fun and pleasant for others…just like the Mac does!

I hope this spirit comes across in this movie.

  2. Can we say “Rational-Emotive therapy”?
(Check the DSM, it’s in there).

I think this film will be a good opportunity for me to take in the bigger picture of the Apple culture as a whole. Do I think there ARE goofballs in the Apple culture, YES. Do I think there are goofballs in the PC world? HECK YES. (There’s one that shows up here all the time.)

  3. What I’m waiting for is DellHeads the movie. This is a truly interesting segment of technology enthusiasts and I expect boffo box office hysteria.

I hear they’re going to show Ditty fanatics syncing their music player with Napster and a Dell laptop user who does a Powerpoint presentation! Suck it, MAC dorks.

    Your potential. Our passion.™

  4. You’ll never see “PC Heads, The Movie”. Why would people pay good money to see frustrated Windows users crying over their keyboards in front of the B.S.O.D.? Or another PC flying out of the first available open window?

The computer-using public doesn’t want to revisit their bitterly painful daily work experiences on the big screen. You go to the movies to ESCAPE.

    Peace.

P.S. I hope some bruthas are in Macheads; they need to come see ME.

  5. Olmecmystic, when you say “they need to come see ME” you’re talking about Windows ME, right?

When they make the DellHeads movie I hope they spend some time going over Windows ME on a Dell OptiPlex™. It would be a fascinating study of how people interacted with Microsoft Excel to make some truly amazing spreadsheets. Those were good times.

Maybe someday there with be spreadsheet software for MAC.

  6. This isn’t a film about the Apple community.

It’s a film about a small subset of extremely delusional people within the Apple community, primarily those who are over 40 with sideburns or scraggly beards, live small lives, and wear shippy hats.

Didn’t you know the Mac is essentially Ben and Jerry’s computer?

The title sums up the films intent: MacHeads.

It says let me patronize you.

Plenty of people love Macs, myself included, but they don’t act that stupid.

Show how people let the Mac change their life, not how people ruin their lives or look foolish in the name of it!

  7. And there is no Mac community anymore. Not a unified one at least.

Now everybody’s coming over. My mother’s in it now. Even my Dad. One of them knows nothing about the history or any community. Come on!

Genius Bar = community? Don’t think so.

Now there are just users and a dedication to the great technology Apple produces. It’s a business transaction with some love added in.
