Apple will hold a Mac-related event for media and analysts scheduled for next Tuesday, August 7th, at 10am PDT at the Apple Town Hall in Cupertino.
“Unlike past events in which the company drafted and issued digital invitations through e-mail, word of next week’s event was initially spread Tuesday afternoon via phone calls from Apple’s marketing division,” AppleInsider reports. “In speaking to journalists by phone, Apple representatives were reportedly very clear in expressing that no iPhone or iPod product announcements were in the cards… Seating is said to be extremely limited.”

New iMacs.
Bring It!
Goodbye white iMac, you’ve been with us for two generations, time for something new.
Apple’s consumer devices are all leaving white behind… iPhone, Mac Mini, Apple Tv, iPod nano and now the new iMac! Anodized aluminum is gonna look very sleek on the new iMac. MacBooks are next and of course the 6th gen iPod which I bet will be iPhone colors.
Whaaaat?
iMac time, baby!!!! Finally! Woohoo!
My G5 iMac at work is going to look dated in 5 . . . 4 . . . 3 . . . 2 . .
All I can say is finally . . . and I’m slightly hoping that 10.5 will be announced for an early release, too.
iLife!, iLife!, iLife!, iLife!, iLife!, ILIFE!, ILIFE!, ILIFE!, ILIFE!, ILIFE!, ILIFE!
iLife and iWork updates, no doubt.
MDN Magic Word: outside, as in, I (and you, probably) will be left outside in the cold, heartless world while special media and analyst people get to sit up close and watch the Steve unload amazing new products. boom 🙁
G5 Powerbook … i just know it
Please let it be a stable, early release of 10.5… but that would be highly unlikely since 10.4.11 has been seeded to developers… unless it is a front to cover up the surprise… hmmm.
The Dude abides
It sounds more like this was put together quickly to perhaps talk about iPhone numbers. That would combat today’s incorrect rumor that Apple is halving the number of iPhones that they are having built.
Maybe someone will bring my cto MacBook Pro that I have been waiting 5 weeks for.
“It sounds more like this was put together quickly to perhaps talk about iPhone numbers. “
thus why they said NO talk about iPhones?!?
MW: i “found” that tidbit by reading…
“Unlike past events in which the company drafted and issued digital invitations through e-mail, word of next week’s event was initially spread Tuesday afternoon via phone calls from Apple’s marketing division.”
LOL. Looks like the Mac is a top priority.
In a rather understated event, often some very important things are revealed. This is especially so if a current highlight isn’t to be cannibalized.
In any case, it’s a good thing.
