  1. While I personally couldn’t care less, the more game providers that take the Mac platform seriously, the better for Apple. Now, let’s see how long it takes to become reality, as the devil is in the details as they say.

  2. re: WoW. Couldn’t agree w/ you more. Saturday night I was in MC with my guild and everyone was reporting framerates less than 10 and my Macbook Pro was happily churning thorough at 20 to 30, even in the most crowded fights. Most of the time it was silky smooth.

  3. Warning: Off topic.

Microsoft patents the mother of all adware systems (arstechnica). Basically, Microsoft is prepared to rifle through all the data in your hard drive to serve you targeted ads.

The adware framework would leave almost no data untouched in its quest to sell you stuff. It would inspect “user document files, user e-mail files, user music files, downloaded podcasts, computer settings, computer status messages (e.g., a low memory status or low printer ink),” and more.

  4. “Capable” maybe. of playing any game CURRENTLY. And you paid $2500+ for that. So how many even casual PC gamers are going to consider the Mac platform? Zero.

If your computer does not have an upgradeable video card it sucks for gaming. And currently Apple does not even have 1 computer with an upgradeable video card for gaming. The Mac Pro you’d have to start with an X1950 and there is no where to go from there.

Therefore: Macs are too expensive and not for gaming.

  5. “Don’t know about you but the new 17inch hi res MBP is capable of any game.”

Or go with with 15 inch for better portability. If you want a bigger screen, simply plug in another display when you want to game.

MDN word: rather. I’d rather have the smaller laptop and use a cheap large monitor for games.
