I hate liberal commies!!!!! Fucking Pussies!
TT,
Neo-conservatives are moderate Democrats? Of course, they are. Richard Perle is a moderate Democrat? John Bolton? Richard ‘Dick’ Cheney? Scooter Libby? Richard Armitage?
There have been neo-cons whoWERE moderate Democrats who, for reasons which defy logic, decided that the Straussian principles of ‘uniting’ (or controlling) a population by creating a ‘shared’ enemy were a way of achieving and maintaining power; originally, the bogeyman was communism but, following the collapse of the Soviet state (when communism simply went ‘through the looking glass’ and became the new Russia which uses natural resources instead of tanks to threaten those around it, whilst still sponsoring the murder of its own citizens and the theft of property), neo-conservativism needed a new enemy and – nine months into Bush’s first term – a bunch of Islamic extremists (who – like the US – believed that they were responsible fot the collapse of communism) duly obliged.
In that respect, neo-conservatives (who bring discredit to the traditions of the ‘real’ Republican Party) are no different to L. Rush Hubbard (who is arguably the court jester to the ‘intellectuals’ (!) of PNAC); they’re also in it for the power and the money and are selling the populace solutions based on fear and loathing focussed on a diffuse ‘enemy’ who can never be unequivocally defeated.
If you keep a population focussed on a perceived threat in that way, you can pretty much sell them anything which assuages their fear including the erosion of their civil liberties and the destruction of checks and balances in government all in the name of ‘national security’.
In that respect, neo-conservatism is no different from the Nazi’s manipulation of the German population or Mao’s Cultural Revolution; ethically and morally bankrupt, obsessed with maintaining power for its own sake and contemptuous of the real needs and concerns of the population.
Neo-conservatism, with it’s flexible “do as I say, not as I do” approach to using religion as a method of ‘channeling’ ideas to the population, has through this administration managed to spend the last 50 odd months doing next to nothing except fighting the specious “war on terror”.
Sure, we’ve had the arguments on gay marriage or stem-cell research – but, in terms of the core issues and challenges that face America (healthcare, education, the widening economic divide that threatens the social cohesion of the nation, etc.), what has this administration delivered?
If Rush is a druggie what does that make Al Gore’s son?
If Rush is a “cheerleader” for the Bush Administration, why did he oppose ‘No Child Left Behind’?
If Rush mock’s Michael J. Fox and gets lambasted, what does it make all of you who mock Rush? Or the mainstream media that looped Rush’s mocking movements so that it looked longer then it actually was?
If Rush wouldn’t be doing this, if not for ratings decline, why were Rush’s servers so jammed on day one from participants during the first mention of the iPhone contest?
What classified documents did Assistant to President Clinton for National Security Affairs, Sandy Berger steal and destroy from the National Archives before Clinton’s appearance before the 9/11 commission?
Are sheet wearing, cross burning bigots, republican as in David Duke (not in office), or democrat as in Sen. Robert Byrd of West Virginia (still in office with no rebuke from his voters or fellow democrats in congress)?
Did Valerie Plame commit purjury? see http://newsbusters.org/node/13016
“You do know that genocide and rape was happening in Bosnia?” – Sparticus… so tell me what was filling the mass graves that were found in Iraq before America’s war with Iraq?
Which cost more in dollars and ruined lives? Iraq or the Great Society War on Poverty?
“The war in Iraq has so far cost well over $400 billion and climbing: in other words, it’s already cost over $1300 for every man, woman and child in the country. Your average two adults/two children family has already paid $5200 for this war, which strikes me as being a lot of money” – Sparticus…, what is the cost of freedom? In total dollars spent? In military lives lost? In days of any conflict lasting? And will all the rest of America’s conflicts be benchmarked by them? (and if you don’t like us being in Iraq, substitute it with Afghanistan (who never attacked us), Pakistan (where it is believed UBL is hiding out) or Iran (where Iraq is just a proxy war and round two will come sooner or later).
To those who feel Bush, republicans and conservatives are similar to the Third Reich and Nazis, who was it that invented “Political Correctness”?
Will end with some humor (for those that have a sense of) –
Folks, there is, and it’s real close: it’s 120 trillion miles away, a new planet. Do you remember how excited they were when they reported this new planet? Why? Because it’s an opportunity to go to a pristine place and start all over with no oil wells and no oil, and no natural gas and no conservatives. Totally politically correct! It’s only 120 trillion miles away. It’s not even in our galaxy. It’s on the edge of another one. The way you get there? You head for the outer edges of our Solar System, and when you get to Your Anus, you turn left.
A few more wonderings…
To those that answered the following question, ‘What is the democrat’s plan on the war on terror?’, why do the leading democrat candidates running for the presidency not discuss this as opposed to bashing President Bush’s efforts?
This one goes to posters of all stripes that have issued posts in the last four pages…
Why can not one post their banter with a little more civility and a lot less name calling?
And yes, I know I mispelled ‘perjury’ in my earlier post…
FINALLY, and this is my last ‘wondering’…
Why am I posting all this at midnight when I should be sleeping!
Good-night all : )
With all do respect, TowerTone, but you can shove the whole sanctominious “you gotta be left or right” philosophy. I consider myself a moderate– there are parts of conservative philosophy I support (typically in fiscal governance), and there are parts of liberal philosophy I support (typically on social issues). Just because I don’t align myself with a particular philosophy (which, let’s face it, most people don’t understand anyway…. after all, when conservatism started, cons used to be the most strident environmentalists), doesn’t mean I don’t believe in anything.
In fact, if you want to know how strongly I believe in some things, tell me to my face that I don’t believe in anything– you’ll be surprised how quickly you end up with a mouth full of teeth.
Like I said… I hate liberal commies!!!!! Fucking Pussies!
How do I qualify saying that? Because I am a fucking pussy, too.
