  1. OK, for the chronologically impaired who also have eyesight problems: when Apple says shipping in February, and your ship date is Feb. 28th, it’s shipping in February. It’s not late. The March 6th date delivery date has nothing to do with Apple’s announced shipping date.
MDN word “building” as in Bill “DIng Dong” Gates

  2. I just wish you didn’t need a Hi Def TV to use this thing. Oh well, I guess this will keep me from suffering from my chronic Early Adopter’s Syndrome ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

  3. What does this thing do anyway? So you can show your computer contents on your TV? Who cares when it ships.

This is another complete rip off from Apple – Steve trots out some useless gadget, and his lemmings line up to buy it – without ever thinking about its usefulness.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one day he pulls out of his Levis a square chunk of silver colored plastic, says “boom – it just works”, shipping now for $79 and people rush for their laptops to place an order.

    Truly amazing.

  4. if the rumours are correct and Apple TV + Leopard can mirror your Mac’s desktop then many more people will be interested, since this will effectively get around the iTunes codec limitations. Anything you can watch on your Mac with VLC player, you could watch full screen on your TV.

For those of us who use BitTorrent this seems like a pretty sweet arrangement.

  5. > he pulls out of his Levis a square chunk of silver colored plastic

That sounds more like Zune. Except it’s brown (and not plastic).

The true “lemmings” use Windows (without much consideration) because everyone else does and it comes on the cheapest PC this week at Walmart or CompUSA. And with Vista, they are being led right off that cliff. I’m sure most people who send $299 on an entertainment device gave it careful consideration. In other words, they made an intelligent choice.
