  1. Great… Now all I have to do is FIND A F#$&#xIN;G WII!!!!

GodDAMMIT, how long do I have to wait before I can get my hands on one of these without camping in front of a store in the freezing cold? It’s been two months since the launch and you still can’t find one on the shelves!

(Meanwhile, PS3s are plentiful. I think it’s obvious who’s winning this round.)

  2. Wow!

Kindness from this group… when I came back – I expected to be flamed.

Anyway – it’s been frustrating. (obviously)

I have an apple G5 running 10.4.8 through an AT&T 2WIRE Router to my Airport Express.

I have one wall partially with opening on both sides separating the Express from my living room. BUT – reach the kitchen fine which is similarly obstructed.

I can CONNECT. It just dies halfway through the updating process. And I don’t understand why it dies.

I will check out the MacRumor site…

Quick story – I have a friend who camped out to get one in Nov. His brother couldn’t find one for his son for Christmas – so he sold his unit to his brother.

He went and camped out again. (and bought his second last weekend)

is the At&T doing dhcp or is the AP Xpress?

Disable interference robustness on the Xpress, non Apple gear does not play well with it. Also, if you have changed your multicast rate on the Xpress, put it back to 2. This is another thing non Apple gear hates.

You might also try putting the Wii in the DMZ of the router (this is called default host on the Xpress)

Good Luck. Let us know your results.

@MDN. I know Wii are off topic but it’s a slow thread.

  4. dhcp?

I don’t know what exactly that is

While my router is “ethernetted” into my G5 and into my Airport express – – I also have an airport card in my G5.
(I use the router since my phone farks with my connection… I use the Airport express to talk to my mini in the kitchen)

Don’t give up hope. Finally, got one yesterday at WMart. Walked in at noon and they had six in the case – thought I was dreaming. Seems Wed. is Wii day at WMart. Circuit City, Best Buy, KMart all seem to prefer Sunday. No cold, no gettin’ up at some God awful hour.

Oh yeah, the Wii’s better than I thought it’d be.
